The shelf life of the primer after opening is closely related to the storage environment, but it is usually significantly shortened, about 6 months to 1 year. If the primer is not stored properly, the shelf life may be further shortened, and it may even be unusable within a few weeks.

The color of high build primer is not single and fixed. Different manufacturers and application scenarios will use primers of different colors. Common colors are gray, reddish brown, white, black, green, etc.

Ordinary primers have a low solid content and form a thin coating film after application, so multiple applications are usually required to achieve the desired effect. The high-strength primer has a higher solid content and can form a thicker coating film in one go after application, thus saving construction time.

The thick coating characteristics of high-strength primers give them the ability to fill wood grain, but the effect depends on the depth of the wood grain, how the primer is applied, and the application technique.

Two-component high build primer is a more common type, and its main components are primer and hardener. The usual mixing ratio is 4:1 or 5:1, that is, four or five parts of primer correspond to one part of hardener. This ratio helps the primer cure quickly and ensures a strong and smooth coating.

High build primer, as the name suggests, is a primer with high filling capacity. This type of primer is designed for thick coating and is usually able to form a thicker coating than ordinary primers, and can even reach a thickness of hundreds of microns in one application.
