Advantages of water-based paint
First of all, water-based paint uses water as a solvent, which saves a lot of resources and greatly reduces hidden fire hazards during construction; air pollution is also greatly reduced. The use of a small amount of low-toxic alcohol ether organic solvents improves the working environmental conditions. The general organic solvent of water-based paint is between 15% and 15%, and the current cathodic electrophoretic paint has been reduced to less than 1.2%, and the effect of reducing pollution and saving resources is obvious. Secondly, the water-based paint can be applied directly on the wet surface and in the wet environment. The drying degree of the material surface is not high, and the coating adhesion is very strong. Then the coating tool can be washed with water, which greatly reduces the consumption of cleaning solvent. Finally, the electrophoretic coating is uniform and smooth, with good flatness. All parts can be coated with a certain thickness, which has good protection. Electrophoretic coatings have strong corrosion resistance.

Disadvantages of water-based paint
First of all, water-based coatings have high requirements on the cleanliness of the construction process and the surface of the material. Due to the large surface tension of water, the dirt is likely to cause shrinkage in the coating film. Secondly, the dispersion stability of water-based coatings against strong mechanical forces is poor. When the flow rate in the pipeline changes drastically, the dispersed particles are compressed into solid particles, causing pits in the coating film. The shape of the pipeline is required to be good, and there is no defect on the pipe wall. Once again, water-based coatings are highly corrosive to the coating equipment, and anti-corrosion lining or stainless steel materials are required, and the equipment cost is high. Corrosion of the water-based paint to the pipeline, metal dissolution, precipitation of dispersed particles, pitting of the coating film, stainless steel pipe is also required. Then the baking water-based paint has stricter requirements on the construction environment conditions, which increases the input of temperature and humidity control equipment and increases energy consumption.
Finally, the latent heat of evaporation of water is large, and the energy consumption of baking is large. Cathodic electrophoretic coatings need to be baked at 180 ; while the latex coating is completely dry for a long time. Organic co-solvents with a high boiling point, etc., produce a lot of oil fumes during baking, and drip on the surface of the coating film after condensation to affect the appearance.

Is water-based paint environmentally friendly?
Water-based paint has the characteristics of strong environmental protection, quick drying, no fear of water and high hardness. Water-based paint is mainly water as an important diluent. The important substance of water-based paint is the film-forming substance. This substance is soluble in water and does not contain heavy metal substances such as benzene and formaldehyde. It is odorless, non-flammable, and does not turn yellow
